A fanlisting is just what it sounds like: a listing of fans. This fanlisting is for the city of Gondolin, in Tolkien's Middle-earth. The name Ondolindë is what King Turgon originally called Gondolin. It means "the rock of the music of water" or "stone song".

When Ulmo led Turgon to the valley of Tumladen, Turgon decided to build a great city there. After fifty-two years of secret labor, Turgon led his people to Gondolin and they dwelt there for some three hundred and fifty years. They never left their city except once: to join the Union of Maedhros. Although Morgoth searched for many years, he could not discover where the city was, until Maeglin betrayed the Gondolindrim. Then Morgoth sent his forces to the valley of Tumladen and destroyed the city. A few of the Gondlindrim, led by Tuor and Idril Celebrindal, were able to escape to the Mouths of the Sirion.

I decided to make this fanlisting because I've always loved the city of Gondolin. There's something about a hidden and sheltered city that enchants me -- I'm not quite sure what it is. Gondolin and its people have always been so neglected, I wanted to do something for them. ;)
